So, today, I’ll be sharing with you a poem that I truly connect with. This poem is about a moment of truth or realization. Those times when you want things not to work the way they are working now, when you feel like questioning every single rule placed forth by society, when you realise that the world is far from functional, I was going through those times when I wrote this poem.
What was the realization, you ask? Well, I realised that everything is not what it seems (Did you get reminded of Wizards of The Waverly Place when you read it?).
I realised how unsure I am and how some ideas are just too far to reach and develop. I also realised that even if we tried to change certain aspects of how the society functions, chances are we’ll disrupt the “system” and the result will be chaos.
In a world where most rules tie you down, where all actions are dictated by society and where going against the system is considered “unconventional”, how do you really leave your mark?
I honestly don’t know. But frustration is a form of inspiration. Here is the poem:
They warned me
Stay away, don’t go,
I pay no heed
I’m already out the door.
I pace across fields
Surroundings blur away
Beauty becomes darkness
As rainbows turn gray
It’s a wrinkle in time
A spasm of my mind
Sure of nothing but uncertainty,
I’m too deaf and blind.
I’m chasing stars
Clawing at the unattainable
Mind is a battleground
A fort, unsustainable.
Wheels are breaking
System is crashing apart
No warnings, no threats
An end is a new start.
I stand amidst debris
Fragments on the ground
It’s a dystopian world
Yet we’re unbound.

Do you have unattainable ideas, too?
What’s tying you down?
Have you ever felt irritated by the system?
Have you ever wanted to just leave things the way they are and wanted go live on an island, preferably the Maldives, in a beach house with a huge library? Maybe, I’m the only one.
